Berlin refused a US demand

The German Government spokesman said today that Berlin has not ground troops in Syria and said that his country will not change this reality.

"The German government intends to stick to the current measures within the military alliance against Daesh, which means that there are no ground forces on the ground," government spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

Washington has asked Berlin to send ground troops to Syria to help the fight against Daesh, the Special Envoy of the United States to Syria James Jeffrey, said: "Washington is waiting for Germany to send troops to the north of Syria to help fight Daesh."
