Danish Defense Ministry said in a statement that the gradually withdrawal would end in late autumn and that it would withdraw about 60 of its special troops from Iraq because most of the areas under the control of IS have been liberated.

Denmark still has about 180 military members in al-Assad air base in Iraq. They are contributing to the surveillance as part of an international coalition fighting the terrorist organization.

In September 26, 2014, the Danish government decided to support the international coalition forces and to eliminate IS. Then, it deployed seven F-16 aircrafts in Iraq.
