Hundreds of residents of Deir ez-Zor march against Turkish threats

Hundreds of residents of Sor town in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor marched today to protest against the Turkish threats.

The streets of Sor town witnessed today a gathering of hundreds of people from different villages and towns of Deir ez-Zor, to participate in a rally expressing rejection and condemnation of the Turkish threats and condemn its crimes against the people of Afrin and the whole Syrian people.

Members of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, members of the Martyrs' Families Council, a number of tribal elders, tribal fighters, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, members of the Women's House, Internal Security Forces (Woman Asayiş) and members of the Future Syria Party participated.

The crowds set out from the entrance of the town of Sor and roamed the streets of the town carrying pictures of martyrs and banners reading "No Turkish Threats" and another reading "One Homeland, One People, One Heart" amid chanting slogans and rejecting Turkish threats to northern and eastern Syria.

During the ceremony, several speeches were delivered, including a speech on behalf of the Northern and Central People's Councils by Abdel Wahab al-Hammada, in which he stressed the cohesion of the Syrian people and their rejection of any external threat aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of northern and eastern Syria.

Followed by a speech on behalf of the Martyrs’ Families Council delivered by "Turki Jalal" in which he stressed that the people continue to follow the path of martyrs until the liberation of all occupied territories.

Then a speech on behalf of the Future Syria Party by "Ahmed Jassem Al-Hamad" explained the need to resort to a political solution through dialogue and rejection of the policy of aggression and Turkish threats on Syrian territory, followed by a speech on behalf of the Department of Women delivered by "Fatima Hussein," she stressed the need to stand together in the face of the Turkish occupation and the failure of his colonial and occupation plans that he tries to pass under the pretext of establishing a safe area.

At the end of her speech, Fatima Hussein called on the international community and world opinion to stop the Turkish violations against international laws and customs against Syrian lands and people, and to hold them accountable for the violations committed in Afrin and other Syrian regions.

Hence the chanting of the territorial integrity of the Syrian people and denouncing Turkish occupation rose.
