Newspaper: Turkey withdraws its military ships from the eastern Mediterranean

Greek City Times newspaper reported that Turkey withdrew some military ships, and hastened to delete a propaganda tweet published by the Turkish embassy in the United States, in which it claimed that the drilling vessel Oroch Reyes started research in Greek marine space.

The Turkish research ship is still anchored outside Antalya, although Turkey has boldly announced that from last Tuesday to August 2 it will search near two Greek islands.

The Turkish embassy accused Greece of pretending that the search area is in Greek territorial waters, in an attempt to justify its extreme aspirations.

According to the newspaper, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not hide his deep annoyance at the provocations of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when he asked the journalist how he felt when he saw Hagia Sophia, and he answered, "I felt what all the Greeks felt."

The newspaper added that, although Erdogan obtained a cheap "victory" by converting the Hagia Sophia into a mosque, Turkey's inability to penetrate the Greek maritime field since Tuesday, and the withdrawal of its warships indicates that Turkey is not ready to risk the war with Greece already; Because of years of war in Libya or Syria, in addition to its internal crises.
