The movement hoped in a written statement that peace would come to Syria and a safe return of the refugees and displaced persons to their areas.
The text of the TEV –DEM statement reads:
On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, we extend our warmest congratulations and blessings to the families of the martyrs, the wounded comrades and all components of the Syrian society and the Islamic community.
I hope on this occasion that peace and stability will be found in our country soon, that the Syrian crisis will end and the joy of holidays and symbolic and religious occasions will return to the hearts of all components of our Syrian people.
Holidays and religious occasions are symbolic and spiritual significance in their human and moral meanings which societies seek to preserve these moral meanings. However, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries have turned them into hell for societies through their violations and crimes, the displacement of our people, the looting of their property, and the burning of their livelihoods, which violate all moral and human standards.
We in the Democratic Society Movement TEV -DEM renew our blessing once again on the Islamic community and the peoples of the world, and we all hope that peace will prevail throughout Syria, and that all refugees and the displaced people will return to their homes. "
