​​​​​​​Washington imposes sanctions on 24 individuals, entities linked to Iran

The United States confirmed, today, Sunday, that Iran possesses materials that enable it to manufacture a nuclear bomb at the end of the year, while announcing the signing of sanctions against 24 individuals and entities related to Iran's nuclear program.

On Sunday, a senior US official revealed that Washington will impose sanctions on more than 24 people and entities who have participated in Iran's nuclear, missile and conventional weapons programs.

The US official said Washington believes Iran may have enough fissile material to build a nuclear bomb by the end of the year.

He also revealed that US President Donald Trump will issue an executive order, tomorrow, Monday, that allows America to impose sanctions on non-American parties that deal with conventional weapons with Iran.

The US official indicated that Iran and North Korea had resumed cooperation on the long-range missile project.

On Sunday, the United States announced, through Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the activation of the "Snapback" mechanism and the re-imposition of sanctions on Iran, and warned that it would hold those violating it accountable.
