World Health sounds alarm again ... worst day

The World Health Organization (WHO) revealed, on Wednesday, the registration of 106,000 new cases of coronavirus emerging in the world during the past twenty-four hours, the highest number of infections in a single day so far.

The organization expressed its concern about the situation of the poor countries, while rich countries continue to exit from the general isolation measures at the height of the virus outbreak.

"We still have a long way to go with the outbreak of this pandemic. We are very concerned about the high number of cases in low and middle-income countries," WHO Director Tidros Adhanom Gebresos  said in a news conference.

The highest number of cases came on Wednesday in Russia, which recorded alone more than 8,000 cases.

The United States and India recorded more than 5,000 cases, while Chile recorded more than 4,000 cases, and Brazil more than 3,000 cases.

The figure announced by the World Health Organization to sound the alarm, warning of worsening of cases with many countries going to reduce isolation measures.

On Wednesday, Russia recorded the highest daily death toll from the new coronavirus in its territory, reaching 135 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to nearly 3,000.

The total number of infections in Russia of the coronavirus has exceeded 300,000, while the recovered more than 85,000 people.

India has had the highest incidence of the new coronavirus since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic began in the country.

India announced that the number of new coronavirus infections in the country rose by 5,611 infections, bringing the total number of infections to 106,750.
