As-Suwayda Military Council activates border guard to address security threats

The Military Council in As-Suwayda Governorate announced the activation of the Border Guard Brigade and several security headquarters in the city, in coordination between Mountain Emir Hassan Yihya Al-Atrash and the Military Council Commander Colonel Tarek Al-Shoufi, "in response to current security challenges and to maintain the security and stability of the region."

A statement issued by the Military Council today stated: "Based on our deep belief in our national role and the responsibilities entrusted to us to protect the homeland and its people," and in light of recent developments such as "terrorist mobilizations in the eastern part of the governorate and cases of security instability within the city," it was decided to take this step.

The Council emphasized its readiness "to bear national responsibilities and work with sincerity and dedication to safeguard the safety of As-Suwayda and protect its people," calling on all segments of society to "stand united in facing common challenges, in pursuit of the desired security and stability."
