Bakur Kurdistan delegation visits Institutions and YPJ in Hasakah

A delegation from Bakur Kurdistan conducted a series of visits to institutions in Hasakah and the Women’s Protection Units today as part of its tour of Rojava, meeting with officials, administrators and commanders.

The delegation included Mardin Co-Mayor Devrim Demir, who also serves as co-chair of the Local Administrations’ Diplomatic Committee; Safiye Aladağ, co-mayor of the Yenişehir district in Amed; Sevim Beçetçi, co-mayor of the Farqîn district in Amed; Belkîze Beştaş İbozdemir, co-mayor of Tetwan; and diplomatic committee member Ruken Demir.

The delegation visited the People’s Municipality in Hasakah, where it was received by Co-Mayors Saadiya Koti and Salman al-Humaidi. Following greetings and introductions, the meeting continued behind closed doors. The delegation then presented the municipality with a commemorative plaque.

The delegation also visited the Family and Population Affairs Department, where it met with administrator Rohat Khalil and her deputy.

The delegation concluded its tour with a visit to the YPJ, where it was received by commander Newroz Ahmed, YPJ spokesperson Roxan Mohammed and several female fighters. The visit included a welcoming session and introductions, followed by a meeting closed to the media.

At the end of the visit, the two sides exchanged plaques and commemorative gifts, reflecting their ties and appreciation for their joint efforts.
