Three Kurdish brothers were injured in the city of Hasakah after being attacked by armed men while passing through the Al-Sina’a Roundabout on their way home. Two were shot, while the third was injured as a result of beatings.

The injured brothers, identified as Nazir Siraj Sheikho, 20, Mohammad Siraj Sheikho, 19, and Diyar Siraj Sheikho, 16, were transferred to Al-Raja Hospital in the city for treatment.

According to the injured brothers’ uncle, Ahmad Sheikho, Diyar underwent surgery on his pelvis after being wounded by a bullet. He is scheduled to undergo another operation because three bullets remain lodged in his back.

Nazir was also shot in the neck and is awaiting the necessary medical examinations in preparation for surgery, while Mohammad was beaten on his back and face by members of the group.

The brothers’ uncle noted that their condition is currently stable, while Nazir and Diyar continue to await the necessary examinations and medical interventions.

In a related development, ANHA documented acts of vandalism accompanying demonstrations held yesterday, Friday, in the Guweiran, Nashwa, and Aziziyah neighbourhoods. These included attacks on public property; the tearing down of signs belonging to the Lawyers’ and Craftsmen’s Unions and the Kongra Star; the destruction of images of martyrs and Kurdish figures; and the writing of racist slogans on walls. The attacks also included throwing stones at the homes of Kurdish residents and smashing cars and windows.

Citizen Ahmad Sheikh Mahmoud said that participants in the demonstrations smashed his car because it bore the names of his two martyred sons, Dilyar and Dilan.

He added that they threw stones at his home and threatened his family members, noting that he had documented photographs of the individuals who made those threats.
