3 explosions shake Ethiopian capital

The Federal Commissioner of Ethiopia told official news agencies that 3 explosions rocked the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Tuesday.

The explosions resulted in the death and injury of an unspecified number of individuals, during protests sparked by the killing of the famous singer Hacalo Hondisa after he was shot in the center of the south of the capital, Addis Ababa.

"Some of those involved in planting a bomb, as well as innocent civilians were killed," Commissioner Indishu Taseo said.

He added that 35 people were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of the corpse of the dead artist, Hacalo Hondisa.

The commissioner did not provide further details about the explosions, but he clarified that an officer was also killed in the capital, during a crisis with the guards of a famous media figure, adding that he was detained subsequently.
