9 killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

Nine people, including civilians, were killed on Thursday by a suicide car bomb targeting a police vehicle in the eastern city of Jalalabad.

Atallah Khojiani, a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, said the suicide bomber blew himself up in a residential neighborhood in the city, killing five civilians, including a child and four policemen.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack in Jalalabad, which in recent years has seen numerous attacks orchestrated by Daesh organization, targeting governmental buildings, schools and relief centers.
