AANES: closure of Semalka crossing is  unilateral decision

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria confirmed that the decision to close the Semalka border crossing with Başûr (South Kurdistan) was taken unilaterally by KDP, which is an incorrect decision, calling for it not to be used as a tool for political pressure against the region.

Today, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement regarding the closure of the Semalka crossing by the Başûr authorities, stating:

"In light of the continued siege on our regions, we in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria were surprised by the closure of the Semalka border crossing with the region Kurdistan without informing us of any reasonable reasons and not even informing us of any detail, the closure decision that was taken unilaterally by the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Considering that this crossing is the only artery towards our regions, and it is devoted to humanitarian affairs and supporting organizations, as well as some commercial businesses. We believe that this decision is "incorrect", especially in the absence of any clarifications for us and for public opinion, as well as the frequent use of this humanitarian crossing for political ends and provocation of our regions and people.

We aspire that this crossing will not be invested in any way as a tool and means of political pressure against our regions, and we affirm the need to neutralize it and liberate it from some narrow political positions.

We hope that the language of reason prevails in this file and that the crossing does not turn into a tool of provocation.

Such moody decisions  would serve parties looking for all means to undermine our people and their gains.
