One of the most important features that characterize the society of north and east Syria is the diversity between its components of Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Assyrians and the rest of the components, which increases solidarity and cooperation between members of society.
The co-chair of the Union of Intellectuals in Al-Jazeera region, Ad-Darbasiyah branch, the writer Ahmed Suleiman says, "If we go back to history, specifically the era of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, all the components of the region that lived together to protect their land from the authoritarian forces were an example of social cohesion."
Suleiman added, "At the time of the French mandate for Syria, the components of the region, especially the Kurds and Arabs, with an overwhelming majority, united to gain independence through uprisings and revolutions, and everything we see from then until now shows that their salvation is in their unity and social cohesion."
They are trying to misrepresent our revolution
Suleiman stressed the importance of social cohesion in the sensitive stage that Syria is going through in general, and northern and eastern Syria in particular, saying, "It is an urgent and necessary need to preserve its territorial integrity, and to close all the gaps in front of the parties that try to ignite discord among the components of the region. The distortion of the revolution in northern and eastern Syria from a revolution against power and nationalism to a fighting of components.
The unity of components can solve the Syrian crisis
Ahmed Suleiman pointed out the importance of the role played by social cohesion between the components of the region in resolving the Syrian crisis, saying, "The unity of the Syrian components is sufficient to solve the Syrian crisis, since the crisis is not among the components of the region, but lies with the ruling regime that suppresses freedoms and does not accept criticism."
In her turn, the poet Amal Hamo explained the importance of social rapprochement between the components of northern and eastern Syria under the umbrella of the autonomous administration, and said: "When any attack on the region occurs, the enemy does not differentiate between Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs."
