​​​​​​​AFP: Missile attack against Turkish consulate in Mosul

A security source says that a missile attack was carried out against the Turkish consulate in Mosul last night. This comes only days after Turkish state carried out a massacre in Zakho.

A parliamentarian and security source told AFP that the vicinity of the Turkish consulate in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq, was targeted with 4 missiles last night. The attack resulted in material damages in the neighborhood.

This attack comes days after the Turkish state carried out a massacre in Zakho, where 9 people were massacred and a further 23 people were injured.

In light of this, the Iraqi government called on Turkey to their forces out of Iraqi territory. The Iraqi ambassador to Turkey was recalled back to Iraq. The incident was described as a violation against Iraq`s sovereignity.

A security source who asked not to be named, told AFP that 4 rockets hit the vicinity of Turkey`s consulate in the Al-Hadba neighborhood in Mosul and only caused material damages.

A parliamentarian from the Ninewa province, Sherwan Doberdani, stated that 4 rockets hit the vicinity of Turkey`s consulate in the area of the Al-Hadba appartment complex in northern Mosul, causing material damages and damaging peoples cars.
