Thousands of Afrin and al-Shahba people demonstrated in Tal Qerah and Ahres villages in rejection of the Turkish occupation threats against the areas of north and east of Syria and they demanded to let the people of the region to participate in the constitutional committee.
The demonstrators raised the photos of the martyrs and the leader Ocalan and they raised banners reads" our constitute is our social contract which has been written by the martyrs blood, there are representatives of the Daesh and al-Nusra. Where are the representatives of the freedom and the peace?, we condemn the silence of the Global Coalition and the UN over these actions.
A statement was read in the demonstration which said, "The peoples of northern and eastern Syria fought global terrorism represented by ISIS. The international coalition and the SDF played a key role in the elimination of the alleged caliphate in Syria. These forces made sacrifices that exceeded 11,000 martyrs and more than 22,000 wounded, in order to preserve the unity of Syria and peace. The statement also touched on the Turkish threats, and its attempt to occupy areas of northern and eastern Syria, as it previously occupied Afrin, al-Bab, Azaz and Jrablos.
The statement also referred to the efforts to exclude the components of the region from the formation of the Constitutional Committee. The statement also called on "the Syrian regime to open up to a constructive dialogue with the Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria as a historic step before it is too late to preserve the unity of Syria from any division projects which drawn up by regional and international states.
The demonstration ended with slogans condemning the Turkish occupation and calling for escalating the resistance.
