The youth of Afrin region denounced the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan saying the leader's saying, "We started with the youth and we will triumph with the youth," renewing the covenant to continue the resistance until the leader Ocalan gains his freedom.

In conjunction with the anniversary of capturing the Leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 15, 1999, the youth of Afrin and al-Shahba cantons denounced the international conspiracy against the Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

During a demonstration organized by Afrin Youth Union, our agency (Hawar) canvassed the views of the participating youth.

The Youth Union’s member Regaz Hamo said: "We demonstrated today to denounce the international conspiracy in its 21st year against the Leader Abdullah Ocalan. That plot did not target the Leader Abdullah Ocalan, but rather the Kurdish people in the person of the leader."

Regaz added: "We, Afrin youth, consider the leader as the basis of our principles in life, and pledge to achieve victory, as the Leader Abdullah Ocalan said "We started with the youth and we will triumph with the youth). We will fight until the last moment to reach the flame of the freedom of Kurdistan and the oppressed people."

Barfin Belal said: "We demonstrated today to denounce the conspiracy on the black day, February 15, and the international plot against the leader Abdullah Ocalan. The goals of the conspiracy countries are to erase the Kurdish people and arrest the leader, but we are a people who always present our culture and follow the ideology of the Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his approach with all ways for our cause. There is no force in the world that can quell our struggle for the leader’s freedom."

Mohammad Alwais of the Arab component spoke about the conspiracy saying: "The conspiracy targeted the democratic ideology and philosophy of the Leader Ocalan through which he defended peoples and foundations for granting them the right of the self-determination."
