"We are very happy for Javad Zarif's visit to Damascus and this visit came at the right time to raise issues related to the strengthening of bilateral relations," Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said in a statement to the reporter of Tasnim agency of Iran.
Al-Moallem stressed that the Syrian regime and Iran permanently coordinate together.
On the recent American action to place the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) on the list of terrorist organizations, Walid al-Moallem pointed out that US President Donald Trump is not familiar with neither law, geography, nor the conditions of the region, but he makes decisions in favor of Israel.
In a related context, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal al-Meqdad confirmed, "Syria's struggle against terrorism will not stop," noting that the meetings of Zarif reflect the convergence of views between Tehran and Damascus.
"We agreed to coordinate and work hand in hand to complete the achievements we have made," al-Meqdad said.
"We will fight against terrorism wherever it is and Syria's struggle against terrorism will not stop. This is one of the main points of coordination between Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
