Al-Sisi confirms his support for new Sudanese authorities during his meeting with al-Burhan

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed on Saturday his support for the new authorities in Sudan during his meeting with the head of the Military Council, Abdul Fattah al-Burhan in Cairo, where he affirmed his readiness to provide all means of support for the siblings in Sudan.

"We are ready to offer all means of support to our brothers in Sudan, to overcome this stage in line with the aspirations of the Sudanese people, away from external interference," al-Sisi said when he met with the head of Sudan's Transitional Military Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Barhan.

"Al-Sisi confirmed the necessity of preserving the institutions of the Sudanese state and the importance of joining regional and international efforts to help the brotherly Sudan to achieve the benefits of this stage and to face the economic crisis for the benefit of the Sudanese people," said Bassam Radhi, the spokesman for the Egyptian presidency.

The head of Sudan's Transitional Military Council, Lieutenant-General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in Cairo on Saturday for his first foreign visit.

Burhan's visit to Cairo came days before a general strike called by the leaders of the Protest Movement in Sudan on Tuesday and Wednesday to demand the Military Council to hand over power to civilians.
