Al-Youssef: Demonstrations in Deir-ez-Zor countryside is peaceful and is legitimate right

The co-chair of Deir-ez-Zor Civil Council confirmed that the regime's repressive practices are still ongoing, as evidenced by its refusal to return more than 200,000 displaced people to their villages and repelled them violently. And added "The demonstrations that took place in Deir-ez-Zor is legitimate right."

On Friday, residents of the village of Salhieh, Hattla, Husseineya, Mirat, Mazloum and Khasham in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor went out in a demonstration to demand the withdrawal of Syrian regime forces from their villages.

The regime forces repelled the peaceful demonstration violently, resulted in the killing two civilians who were directly targeted by the regime forces.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the co-chair of Deir-ez-Zor Civil Council, Ghassan al-Youssef, "What happened in Deir-ez-Zor is peaceful demonstrations which is considered legitimate rights and the people have the right to self-determination."

"We aim to restore stability to the whole Syrian territories and try to be away from any regional or international conflict in order to preserve the security and safety of the Syrian people," he said.
