American and Egyptian armies discuss situation in Libya

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced today, Wednesday, that the Egyptian Minister of Defense, Mohamed Zaki, held a meeting with US Central Command chief Kenneth McKinsey to discuss developments in the region.

The Egyptian Armed Forces indicated that the Egyptian Minister of Defense discussed with the Commander of the US Central Command a number of issues of common concern in light of the current regional and international developments and the increase in the fields of military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.

The meeting also discussed the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces in the field of achieving security and stability in the region, as well as a file of joint exercises between Egypt and the United States of America.

 The Commander of the US Central Command praised the successes achieved by the Egyptian armed forces in achieving security, stability and balance in the region and combating terrorism.

The Chief of Staff of the Egyptian armed forces also met with the American military official, and the meeting dealt with a number of issues of common concern in the light of military cooperation relations and exchange of experiences between the armed forces of the two countries.
