Appeal from Tourism ,Antiquities Protection Body to protect Afrin's antiquities

On the occasion of the International Day of Antiquities, which is on April 18, the Tourism and Antiquities Protection Body in al-Jazeera region- Syria appealed to all international and institutions and organizations concerned with the protection of monuments and called upon them to play their role in putting an end to the blatant violations committed by the Turkish occupation army against archaeological sites in Afrin.

This came in a statement issued by the Tourism and Antiquities Protection Body in al-Jazeera region - Syria which said:

  "On the occasion of the International Day of Antiquities, which is on 18 April each year, and on the basis of the Constitution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), on behalf of its peoples.

The Tourism and Antiquities Protection Body in al-Jazeera region - Syria. The World Cultural and Natural Heritage Convention, adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO at its seventeenth session in Paris on 16 November 1972, reaffirms its commitment to harness all its efforts, energies and cadres to protect and preserve the monuments in all circumstances. .

And appeals to all international and international institutions and organizations concerned with the protection of antiquities and calls upon them to play their role in putting an end to the flagrant violations committed by the Turkish occupation army against the archaeological sites in Afrin from the site (Ain Dara )archaeological site and the most recent site (Church of al-Berad) and bombarded them with aircraft and heavy weapons, and violating of all international conventions. "
