Artistic performances summed up what Afrin was exposed to

The artistic, lyrical and theatrical performances performed during the cultural week in al-Shahba canton about the Turkish aggression on Afrin and the resistance shown by the people, and the attempts of smelting and annihilation against the Kurdish people throughout history.

After the completion of the conference work of liberating Afrin, held on last 18 June, the Culture and Art Movement decided to intensify its activities and artistic, cultural activities in al-Shahba areas, and began on 26 September to show artistic, cultural and theatrical performances in the areas of al-Shahba for 8 consecutive days, they focused on the resistance of the people of Afrin and their insistence on the liberation of Afrin, the Turkish violations and its attacks on Afrin, and how to face the cultural genocide practiced against Afrin canton by the Turkish occupation under the slogan "Fight with the democratic nation's principles to liberate Afrin."

The participants in the campaign "Fight with the democratic nation's principles to liberate Afrin" 10 bands of art, theater and singing.

Artistic performances focused on the Turkish aggression on Afrin and the resistance shown by the people

Among these bands was the 9-member Rojava Band, which performed a lyric about the status of Afrin canton before the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and during and after the attacks. The first song focused on the democratic nation project that was implemented in Afrin canton and the development of its concept within the community, and the nature of the picturesque and history of the Kurds in the region, and the third talked about the existence of some of the characters who worked within the city administration, but in fact they were working against the democratic nation's project and were working for the enemy and had a hand in the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation against the canton

The fourth song performed by Rojava Band focused on the situation of Afrin during the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and their indiscriminate bombardment of the villages and districts, the resistance demonstrated by the residents of Afrin in front of those aircraft and the military arsenal used by their attacks. The fifth included the father's funeral for his son and their pride with their sons who were martyred in defense of Afrin, and the sixth song addresses fate and asks what is the guilt of the Kurdish people to be subjected to all kinds of massacres, killing, denial and displacement?

The seventh and final song included the pledge of the people of Afrin to liberate Afrin and to continue in resistance shown by the people in the areas of al-Shahba.

Administrator of Culture and Art Movement and one of the participants in the lyric  Hanan Sido said: "We wanted to send a message to the public opinion about the exposure of the people of Afrin during the bombing of the Turkish against the canton, as we point out in our panel to the resistance shown by the people here in the areas of al-Shahba and Şêrawa under the tents pledging to liberate Afrin".

Five singing bands including 36 members have performed during the cultural week traditional, popular and revolutionary songs revolving around about the resistance of Afrin residents to the attacks of the Turkish occupation army, as well as of performing songs dating back thousands of years talking about the history of the Kurdish people and their exposure to a series of massacres, killings and displacement.

The dances were traditional, Kurdish dating back thousands of years

Many of the traditional dances of Afrin have been smelted and dissolved as a result of the policies of denial and “melting pot” practiced by the countries hostile to the Kurdish people for hundreds of years, so in the cultural week also 3 dance teams have participated, and presented dancing of Kurdish Folklore, some of which date back thousands of years.

The meanings of the dancing movements refer back to the beginnings of the natural society. The movements refer to the sadness, joy, loneliness, love and agriculture that were practiced in the natural society.

Damhat Khelo the administrator of the dancing section said "For thousands of years, the enemy occupied us and stole our culture and dances. He claimed that these dances were his, but through our research and scrutiny, we were the true friends of those dances,"

The band Afrênerên Hêviyê offered a new approach in its plays

Afrênerên Hêviyê Band has participated in the activities of the cultural week, which consists of 5 members, and presented during the participation 3 symbolic plays, but a new approach is different from what was presented in Afrin canton, the first play revolves around the history of the Kurds and enemies of the Kurdish people where they all want to end the Kurdish presence.

The second and third plays speak of fulfillment through a person who represents the role of two people. The first is doing a great effort to prove his love and loyalty to the other person and he is very tired in proving that. But the second person does not pay much attention to this. The first person is an enemy. The first person refers to the Kurdish people and the second person refers to the enemies of the Kurds who want to get rid of the Kurds always.

Zineb Mohammed, administrator of the Theater Department of the Golden Crescent Movement said "Through our three plays, we wanted to send a message to our society that they should realize that the enemies of the Kurdish people are many and must be aware of this. The silent dramas show that their aim is to convey the idea to the society's mind in a suggestive way.
