Celebration in Girkê Legê, poetry soiree in al-Hasakah as March 8 approach

The series of events organized by the Kongra Star continue on the occasion of the International Women's Day, the Free Women's Caravan paid a visit to Girkê Legê area and held a celebration, while the intellectuals Union in al-Hasakah held a poetry soiree.

The Free Women's Caravan headed towards Girkê Legê to organize a celebration on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, raising the pictures of the leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan and the photos of the activist Leyla Guven, chanting slogans that salute the struggle of women.

As the caravan reached to the courtyard of the martyr Xebat in Girkê Legê where hundreds of people gathered. The ceremony began with a minute of silence, and then a speech was delivered on behalf of the caravan by the Kongra Star administrator Shaha Khalil, she blessed March 8 on all women at the front lines, as well as the resistance of the activist Leyla Guven and her comrades who are going on hunger strike."

The Alanya Music Band of Aram Tikran's Center performed a series of songs.

The participants concluded the celebration with Dabka rings.

A poetry soiree in al-Hasakah on the occasion of March 8th

On the occasion of the upcoming International Women's Day, the Intellectuals Union in al-Hasakah canton organized a poetry soiree at its center in the neighborhood of Tel Hajar in the city of al-Hasakah in the presence of dozens of intellectuals.

The co-chair of the Intellectuals Union in al-Hasakah Mohammed Bashir, the co-chair of the Culture and Art Body in al-Hasakah Afaf Hasaki, and dozens of poets, intellectuals and residents of al-Hasakah canton.

The soiree began with a minute of silence, after which many poems were delivered by several poets. The poems focused on the resistance and struggle of women and their role in society and their resistance to get rid of the masculine mentality that deprived them of their rights.

The soiree ended with slogans that salute women's resistance.
