Celebration in Zorava in Damascus on 8th of March

On the occasion of the 8th of March, the International Women's Day, Kongra Star organized a celebration in Zorava and Ruken Al Din neighborhoods in the Syrian capital of Damascus, and dozens of people and women attended dressing the folkloric costume.


On the occasion of the 8th of March, Kongra Star and the people of Zorava and Ruken Al Din neighborhoods in Damascus organized a celebration, congratulating the 8th of March which is celebrated by the whole world.

At the celebration, a speech was delivered on behalf of Kongra Star Council, congratulating all women of the world, especially those who are struggling for their rights on the International Women's Day.

The speech also touched upon the history of this occasion and how women demonstrated against injustice, reaching to the Kurdish women who defeated the most powerful terrorist group in the world, IS organization.

The speech also highlighted the incidents took place in Şengal, the abduction of thousands of Yazidi women and the suffering of Yazidi women.

Then the Martyr Serhad Band performed a series of folkloric dances in addition to several revolutionary songs about women.

At the end of the ceremony, the attendees danced the Dabkeh on the songs.
