Chanahan in Iraq to discuss US troops' presence

The acting US Secretary of Defense Patrick Chanahan arrived to Bagdad as the "Associated Press" agency to discuss with the US military commanders and the Iraqi government leaders on the future of the presence of US troops in Iraq.


Acting US Secretary of Defense, Patrick Chanahan, said before his undeclared visit that he wanted to hear closely the state of Iraq war against IS remnants.

Chanahan, who is on his first visit to Iraq, it is scheduled he meets Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi

In statements to reporters after leaving Washington on Sunday, Chanahan refused to say whether he would propose sending additional US troops to Iraq to compensate the withdrawal from Syria within weeks.
