Chinese -Taiwanese tension coincides with the arrival of a US official to the latter

The Taiwanese Defense Ministry announced that Chinese combat aircraft briefly crossed the sensitive "middle line" in the Taiwan Strait that separates China and Taiwan Monday morning, before the Taiwan air force "expelled" them.

The ministry, citing the Air Force, said that Chinese fighters were also tracked by Taiwan's ground-based anti-aircraft missiles.

It is worth noting that the accident occurred after a high-level visit by US Health Secretary Alex Azar to Taiwan, which China condemned, and China views Taiwan as its own territory, and it has no right to establish relations with other countries.

Azar is the most senior US official to visit Taiwan since the United States cut official ties with Taiwan in 1979.
