This came in an official statement to the Defense Office in the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria in response to statements made by the Syrian Defense Minister Ali Ayoub about the areas of north and east of Syria and his threat to them.

The Defense Office's statement included, "On the first anniversary of the occupation of the canton of Afrin by the Turkish state and its mercenaries, the statement of the Syrian government's defense minister on Monday regarding the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) expresses the extent to which this institution is far from the Syrian national interests, as well as the continuation of the sterile racist policy that led Syria to this disastrous situation. The use of threatening language against SDF that liberated and protected all areas of north and east of Syria from the terrorist forces serves only the forces that are working to divide Syria's unity."

The Office stressed that AA tried to support all the efforts and mechanisms of dialogue with Damascus and its position remains on the need for a solution and dialogue within the Syrian framework for all outstanding issues. It added, "But the statement that has emerged today (on Monday) confirms the insistence of the Syrian government on the policy of repression, violence and the evasion of peaceful democratic solutions."

The Defense Office in the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria stated, "The declarations of the Syrian regime's defense minister confirm that the regime insists on producing itself through military and security decisions, contrary to what we aim at in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in achieving security and stability through a comprehensive political settlement."

At the end of the statement, the Defense Office confirmed, "They want all sides to know that they support the option of the political solution, but we will not hesitate to defend our rights if necessary."
