Dêrik people condemned isolation imposed on Ocalan, renewed their solidarity with hunger strikers

Thousands of residents of the Dêrik area expressed their solidarity with the resistance of the hunger strike to lift the isolation of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, and called on the people to escalate the struggle against isolation.

Thousands of people from the Dêrik area marched to Azadi Square in the center of the city to participate in a mass demonstration to denounce the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, and to meet the demands of hunger strikers. Representatives of political parties and clerics also participated in the demonstration.

The demonstration began from Azadi Square amid the chanting of slogans that salute Ocalan's resistance in the Imrali prison. The demonstrators headed towards the center of the Martyr Bewer Center for the youth, where the demonstration turned into a mass rally.

After holding a minute of silence, the administrator of the Democratic Union Party in Dêrik Hussein Ramadan delivered a speech in which he said: "We praise the resistance of hunger strikers and demands to lift the isolation of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan in the prisons of the fascist Turkish."

Ramadan continued: "The isolation imposed on the leader is the isolation of human and peoples loving and longing for freedom, so we promise our comrades to escalate the struggle to achieve their goals."

At the end of his speech, Ramadan stressed that "the philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan has united the peoples of northern and eastern Syria in organizing themselves and liberating their regions from Daesh."

We appeal to the peoples demanding humanity, freedom and human rights organizations to immediately intervene to support the Kurdish leader in the prisons of fascism and support the hunger strikers to put pressure on the Turkish occupation to end the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people. "

Moreover, the demonstration ended with slogans saluting the resistance of the activist Leyla Guven and her comrades.
