​​​​​​​Egyptian army foiled attack in Sinai, 18 terrorists killed

The Egyptian armed forces thwarted an attack by "hard liners' elements" on a security site in Bir al-Abd area in North Sinai, and killed 18 "terrorists", according to a statement by the armed forces.

The statement pointed out that the forces thwarted the attack, which was using booby-trapped vehicles. Then, the security forces, in cooperation with the Air Force, chased hard liners' elements inside a farm and some inhabited houses, resulted in the killing 18 of hard liners", including an individual wearing an explosive belt.

The Egyptian Armed Forces confirmed their continued efforts to secure all strategic directions of the state, to eliminate the roots of "terrorism" and its uprooting, and to provide security and safety for the people of Egypt.
