German security official: We want to identify, examine German members of IS before their return

The Associated Press quoted a senior security official in Germany as saying: "The suspected German members of IS must be examined in Syria before they can return home.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said: "Germany needs to know with certainty the identity of the IS fighters and their families, and what they claimed they did," before anyone was put on board a plane. "

His remarks came in an interview with the newspaper " Süddeutsche Zeitung" on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump called on European allies to restore their compatriots.

According to the agency, the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) are detaining about 50 German elements of IS  and similar members of their families.
