Greece getting ready to face any Turkish provocations in Aegean Sea, Mediterranean

A Greek newspaper revealed its country's readiness for a protracted crisis in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean and to face any additional Turkish military provocations there.

The Greek newspaper "Ekathimrini" said that "Athens is preparing on the diplomatic and military levels for a protracted crisis in the Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean."

It added that "Greek military commanders have been reforming the country's strategy, which until recently has been mainly based on the Aegean Sea and not the Eastern Mediterranean." The newspaper also revealed "ongoing plans to strengthen the Greek armed forces and their infrastructure."

On Sunday, the Greek Foreign Ministry confirmed that Turkey does not hesitate to create confusion in the region, thus endangering human lives, against the background of the latter's designation of a new "search and rescue" area in the Aegean Sea.
