Hassan Rohani rejects bilateral talks with Washington

Iranian President Hassan Rohani said that his country's response would always be negative to any offer of bilateral talks with the United States.

"We have not and will not decide to conduct bilateral negotiations with U.S. at any time," said Rohani in a public session of parliament broadcast live on state radio.

"Proposals have been made to us by many parties in this regard, but we have refused," he added.

"If America lifts all sanctions, we can, as before, join multilateral talks between Tehran and the parties to the 2015 agreement," he said, referring to the nuclear deal.

US President Donald Trump has offered to meet with Iran's leaders and hold bilateral talks without preconditions.
