​​​​​​Iraqi Foreign Ministry: Government pays special attention to al-Hol- Roj camps

The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, informed the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS, held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, today, of the Iraqi government's priorities regarding several files, on top of which is the fight against terrorism, indicating that it pays special attention to al-Hol camp and gives it priority.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said in the Iraq speech, which he delivered during the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition to Fight ISIS, held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, that: “The Iraqi government works to improve services and infrastructure, move the economy forward and fight corruption, and it is determined to combat terrorism in all its forms.”

Hussein added, "The security forces are pursuing preemptive and intelligence operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs and their sleeper cells, and these efforts have significantly reduced the level of attacks during the first half of this year."

In a related context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said, "The government pays special attention to the al-Hol and Roj camps and gives them priority, and stresses the need to find a real solution to this crisis," noting that "the Iraqi government has returned nearly 1,400 families, or more than five thousand people, to Jaddaha center  for psychological and community rehabilitation, and 680 families were reintegrated in their original areas after undergoing rehabilitation programs in the aforementioned center.

He stressed that "the Iraqi government has returned about 3,000 Iraqi terrorist fighters detained in Syria, and most of them have been tried."
