Israeli newspaper: Alert will continue for a long time, fearing Hezbollah's response

Israeli security sources said that the state of military alert in the northern region with Lebanon and Syria may continue for a long time, fearing reprisals for Hezbollah, over the recent Israeli strikes that targeted Syria.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv quoted sources in the Israeli security system: "The state of alert in the northern region will continue for a long time, for fear that Hezbollah will respond to the killing of one of its elements."

It noted that the Israeli army estimates that Hezbollah continues to search for an Israeli weakness, to implement the response.

And said: "The Israeli army estimates confirm that the retaliation operation from Hezbollah is certain, and therefore the alert status will continue for a long time."

And continued, "Hezbollah aims to implement a limited response, such as firing missiles directed at army vehicles, or sniping an Israeli soldier, on the borders of Lebanon."

And noted that: "The Israeli army raised the state of alert and strengthened its forces on the northern border."
