The Jineolojî academy in northern and eastern Syria seeks to promote the principle of free life and equality in society through its four branches (the Center for Jineolojî, High Schools, the Andre Wolf Institute and the Jineolojî department).
The first academy was opened in Afrin in July 17, 2017. After the Turkish occupation of Afrin, the Academy was closed and, in 13 September 2017, it opened its centers in Dêrik in Qamişlo canton, in January 3, 2018, another center was opened in Manbij, as for al-Hasakah, a center was opened in January 11, 2019. In conjunction with International Women's Day, its center in Kobani opened on 6 March this year.
These centers conduct research according to the needs of the region, one of the Jineolojî centers is located in Derik with 5 members.
"We are looking at the main points of Jineolojî a, such as sexual intolerance, women's economy, natural society, aesthetics, and we are looking at the community about the problems that face women and their lives," said Baran Rojilat, a member of the research department, whose origins are from the Rojilat Kurdistan, these points make up the core subjects of training."
"At first we trained women. After the concept of Jineolojî was established, we saw that it was necessary to train men too," she said.
"Having come to analyze that solving the problems of society and women lies in the Jineolojî," she said.
After the proposal of teachers and students, the department of Jineolojî was opened at the University of Rojava at the end of 2017. The course is currently taught in two grades. The first class consists of 9 students and the second of 11. The first stage starts in the 1st of November and ends on February 21, The second phase will begin on the 10th of March and end on the 13th of June.
In the first grade, Jineolojî, computer, Kurdish language, sociology, the terms of Kurdish history and literature, the second is the teaching of Jineolojî, health, participatory economy, women's freedom, free communal life, democratic politics, Kurdish literature, Kurdish language and protection.
"In Rojava, the spark of the revolution broke out, and this revolution was characterized by the color and nature of women, because women played their military, political and administrative role," member of the Jineolojî department Newroz Sheikhmos said. "In the universities of the world, many sciences are taught, but so far women's science has not been taught, the science of this revolution is Jineolojî and must study this science."
Jineolojî classes in secondary schools
In order to consolidate the idea of a free life and equality in society, the academy sought to teach the Jineolojî subject in the secondary schools. The books were prepared for the three grades in the secondary stage, where it is taught for the first secondary grade in the schools of Qamişlo, al-Hasakah and Kobani.
The book content?
The book of the first secondary grade consists of 4 sections, namely: what is the Jineolojî, the nature of women, the identity of the societal woman and the liberation of societal sexuality, while the second secondary book consists of 7 sections: The Neolithic age, the age of the gods, the first refraction, the age of capitalism, the last years of women's struggle, socialist revolutions, the struggle for emancipation of nations and women.
The third secondary school book consists of five sections: "liberation struggle in the Kurdistan region, mobilization, women's unity, liberation projects, the functions of the Jineolojî, and the fields of Jineolojî."
The teacher of the Jineolojî subject at al-Zahra School in the city of Qamişlo, Amina Abdel-Karim Taha explained that teaching Jineolojî at schools is essential. "Learning must be done on freedom and equality from childhood, and although students were confined to a narrow corner of society, they realized the right path, where their personality was clearly changed."

After all the world has known about the revolution of women in Rojava, many women from Europe and America have gone to Rojava. Jineolojî has particularly caught their attention, and in order for the world to learn about Jineolojî, international women can get a close look at it through the Jineolojî academies.
Therefore, a center has been opened, and every time the international women get training about Jineolojî, some go to their country and work on the dissemination of the Jineolojî, others continue their research in Rojava.
Sara Costerk a French woman who came to Rojava 7 months ago, said, "In 2016, I attended Jineolojî conference and it drew my attention, and I saw it as an alternative to the patriarchal system. I was working within the feminist movements, but I could not apply my ideas, while Jineolojî is strong in effect and connected to society."
"I was intrigued, there we learned about the Jineolojî, but it was only theoretical. I came here and saw the practical reality of Jineolojî. Many of the international women joined the Rojava revolution through the Jineolojî, "she said.
"Many of the women in the world were joining these centers. We were from different countries, but our suffering is one, the masculine mentality that targets all of us," she said.
Sarah noted that at the moment there is a lot of research, since studies in Europe about the revolution of women are scarce, and pointed out that they want in write the history of women in Rojava and Kurdistan, Sara noted, "We are working on a book in German and Spanish, we are interviewing women in the region, translate them and send them to our country, we want to spread this revolution to the whole world."
