BERITAN MADUSA/ NEWS DESK
After the Kurdish leader, Abdullah Ocalan, assigned a section of his book Sociology of Freedom to Jineolojî, it became a motive for all women seeking freedom. Then the book of the Jineolojî was prepared in May 2105, This book became the basic index of the Jineolojî.
After the revolution of Rojava, which started on 19 July 2012, the women of Rojava began to publish Jineolojî. During 2013-2014, all areas of northern Syria became familiar with the concept of Jineolojî through lectures. In 2015, an academy and institution were opened.
Member of the Academy of Jineolojî Zozan Sima explained to Hawar news the mechanism of their work and how to develop it in the north and east of Syria.
Zozan reported that the pre-revolution was also an arena of women, through social work in the nineties by women strugglers, and noted that this was the remaining legacy of the resistance of the women, which reached their highest level with the revolution of Rojava and developed rapidly Jineolojî works in the region. "After Rojava revolution, there were social, military and cultural academies, so we gave courses on the Jineolojî, and it was necessary to give them extensive lessons. Initially, we trained 300 women and the women who received the training gave their classes in the academy."
"The goal is analyzing the society through the thought of women. In order to reach a solution, there was a need for experience. This was the arena of the revolution, and the revolution was characterized by the color of women. So we conducted psychological research over three years and at the level of the three cantons, and through these researches we were able to identify the history, culture, the differences of society and women, and we saw that it is possible to deepen our work in this area, that is why we opened the research centers.
The Jineolojî Academy opened five centers, the first of which opened in 17 July 2017 in Afrin canton. The second was opened in 13 September 2017 in the city of Dêrik of Qamishlo canton, and in the city of Manbij opened in 3 January 2018, and in Hasakah opened in 11 January 2019 while on 6 March 2019 it was opened in Kobani.
Expectations are increasing
Zozan Sima noted that in addition to the opening of the centers, there were large gaps. "Wherever we were giving the lectures, the expectations were increasing, so we had to try harder, but we faced great difficulties. There are many differences in society, during the persecution of women in society, and so far apart from Jineolojî there are not any centers of awareness and settlement of differences, so there are many expectations of the Jineolojî."
Jineolojî department opened
One of these proposals and expectations is the opening of a Jineolojî department. After the opening of the universities, female teachers proposed the opening of a section of the Jineolojî curriculum, so a department at the University of Rojava was opened at the end of 2017. Now two classes are taught.
Jineolojî effected European women
After the women's revolution in the world, many of the women of Europe, America and other countries flowed Rojava, one of the points that has become entrenched in their minds is Jineolojî.
Zozan Sima pointed out that many international women have found answers to their research in Jineolojî because the 21st century is the century of women's freedom, the struggle and revolution of women, such as the uprising that is now taking place throughout the world against the oppression of women which turns out now to fundamental contradictions in the world "Everyone wanted to know what the secret of Kurdish women's political, military, and legal successes is. Now everyone knows that success is Jineolojî revolution, so they have gone towards Jineolojî."
As a result, all women in Europe, America and other countries working under the auspices of the André Wolf Institute, international women have been working in the field of Jineolojî for nearly a year are preparing to open the André Wolf Institute. Women of the region, in this context, research is conducted on the history of women and obstacles against women, while do research on the concept of Jineolojî and want to spread the field in their countries as well.
Jineolojî taught to new generations
In order for the ideology of gender equality and free life to be shared among new generations in society, the Jineolojî Academy decided to give Jineolojî lessons in schools as well, so that textbooks on the Jineolojî of grades 10, 11, and 12 were prepared this year, in the schools of Al-Hasakah, Qamishlo and Kobani.
Subjects are increasing
"Now that we have developed a program, we are currently researching the history of women in Şengal and the status of women's psychology in the north of Syria," she said. Besides, the history of women and the economy and shared free life, and we began to search for the history of Arab women, and also prepared books in several languages, and in Bakur Kurdistan Jineolojî journals are published. Therefore, we wish all the feminine movements and women's movements to look again on the physiology, history and religion and benefit from them. We are heading to the Middle East, and even a song or tattoo on the forehead of mothers will be a source for us. Not only Jineolojî is the basis of the 21st century science, but also the expectations of all women in the world, and we hope to be an answer to them."
The Jineolojî Academy in North and Eastern Syria publishes free thought and equality in society through 4 methods (Jineolojî Centers, schools, Wolf Institute, and Jineolojî department).
