The forces and the Egyptian armed forces of their main branches implemented the maneuver "Resolve 2020" on the western strategic direction.
The main branches of the Egyptian armed forces, "land, sea, air and air defense" participate in this maneuver.
The maneuvers are attended by the Minister of Defense and Military Production in Egypt, Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki.
These maneuvers come in the wake of statements by the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, in which he said that there is "great concern" about the movements around the Libyan city of Sirte.
It is noteworthy that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi recently confirmed that the city of Sirte is a " line and observers see that the region is witnessing dangerous developments with the escalation of tension between Egypt and Turkey against the backdrop of the Libyan crisis."
On this, the Director of the Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies, Brigadier Khaled Akasha said: "Egypt with the military maneuver of Decisive 2020 places its forces in the strategic western military axis in the highest degree of readiness, noting that Egypt aims with this maneuver to secure its borders, and to be a high degree of willingness, as training is carried out on a number of specific tasks that Egyptian strategists and military experts expect that it may require resorting to them if things are developed. Egypt was compelled to carry out operations outside the Egyptian borders in the event of escalating conditions inside Libya, as we are in the strip adjacent to the Egyptian-Libyan borders."
Akasha added in a special statement to Hawar news agency: "The region is witnessing 4 military maneuvers at the same time, and an Egyptian military maneuver with this high level of participation and weapons confirms that Egypt takes into account the Turkish military maneuvers that were announced, noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the Egyptian armed forces are ready to defend their borders against any infringements or threats."
The Director of the Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies Khaled Akasha affirmed that Egypt is at the highest level of readiness and willingness to carry out the protection of its borders and people in accordance with the red lines that it will not allow to cross.
