The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to commit the most horrific violations against women in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and in this regard, the Special Investigation Committee for Syria linked to the United Nations, in a report submitted to the Human Rights Organization, presented some of the attacks that have been documented from the killings, kidnappings and rape committed against women by Turkish mercenaries.
The continuation of its attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and its occupation of Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî came in retaliation for the defeat of ISIS and its forces at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and the pursuit of living on the basis of a democratic system based on equality between men and women and the achievement of brotherhood among the people of the region.
Perwin Youssef, the Coordinator of the Kongra Star says that the violations of the right of women in the occupied areas of northern and eastern Syria, including kidnapping, killing, rape, and their detention as hostages in exchange for a ransom, in addition to cases whose fate is still unknown are still going on by the Turkish mercenaries clearly and openly before the eyes of all countries of the world, and the Human rights institutions for local Autonomus Aadministration have documented them.
Perwin Youssef explained that the goal of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from all these violations against women in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî is to break the will of women and the democratic system that gave women the right to express their opinion and show themselves as an independent entity capable of managing themselves.
She continued: "What the situation is witnessing at the present time in the occupied territories shows us the mentality that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries seek to establish in the minds of the people of the region, for example the construction of religious institutions under the supervision of men only, as they try in these ways to obscure the role of women in society, weaken their image. İn addition, the continuation of these violations indicate that the positions of the international community and human rights organizations are weak.
There are hundreds of cases more horrific than those mentioned in the report
Perwin Youssef highlighted the report of the Special Investigation Committee on Syria submitted to the Human Rights Organization, and said: "A few days ago, a report was issued by the Special Investigation Committee on Syria linked to the United Nations, on the one hand it can be viewed positively, but on the other hand the report was not enough in actual terms, compared to the violations against women in the occupied areas of north and east Syria. The documentation and evidence presented by the Commission is only equivalent to a fraction of the violations committed against women, as there are hundreds of more egregious cases than those mentioned in the report."
She added: "The committee could have shown the brutality of the Turkish occupation mercenaries practiced against women more closely, especially after the meetings and conferences that were held to put an end to all these violations against civilians and women in those occupied areas, but it was not sufficiently and desired in return for what is happening effectively of war crimes."
She said: "On a daily basis, these attacks and violations against women are taking place, and Turkey's warning and holding them accountable is not enough to put an end to all these violations against women and humanity."
Perwin Youssef appealed to international community organizations and organizations related to human rights to document all the attacks practiced against women and to be brought before the courts of the international community for trial, in addition to to supporting the victims, such as the political martyr Hevrin Khalaf who aimed to build a safe and stable Syria, and said: The only basis for this event should have been Erdogan’s fate of imprisonment a year ago, not to mention other than these inhuman violations."
