Kosovo returns Daesh's families from Syria

A plane carrying women and children belonging to Kosovo-based mercenaries in Syria returned to Kosovo earlier this morning, Reuters reported.

Kosovo's justice minister said at the airport that the planned process for the return of some Kosovars from Syria had ended successfully, adding that all the details would be clarified at a news conference during the day.

Members of the anti-terrorist police guarded the cargo terminal at Pristina airport and a US-flagged aircraft was seen on its tail at the airport.

More than 300 Kosovo citizens, men, women and children, traveled to Syria after 2012 to join a fight with the terrorist. Some 70 men who fought alongside mercenary groups were killed.

Some 150 women and children, including about 60 children born in combat zones, were arrested after a humiliating defeat, police said.
