Lawyers, family's demand to meet Ocalan rejected

The Turkish Public Prosecution has rejected the request for a visit to Ocalan's family and the families of three other detainees. At the same time, the Prosecution rejected the request of Ocalan's lawyers to meet their client for the 794th time.


The brother of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, Mohammad Ocalan, visited the Turkish Public Prosecution in Bursa to meet with Ocalan. The families of three other detainees, Hamîlî Yildirim, Omar Hayrî Konar and Veysel Aktaş also reviewed the Prosecution to meet with them, but the General Prosecution rejected their demand.

Mohammed Ocalan met with Ocalan on 11 September 2016, and the last time was on 12 January.

On the other hand, the lawyers of Ocalan Rêzan Sarica, Faîk Ozgur Erol, Newroz Uysal and Cengîz Yureklî filed a request to meet with their client for the Turkish prosecutor's office for the 794th time, but their request was rejected again.

Ocalan's lawyers have been prevented from meeting their client, Abdullah Ocalan since 27 July 2011.
