The Libyan army is preparing to launch a major military operation in the coming hours to regain control of the city of Gharian, south-west of Tripoli, at a time of continuing clashes on the outskirts of the city, which is the center of operations of the army.

The forces of the National al-Wifaq Government announced that they had extended their influence over the city of Gharian, which is controlled by the Libyan National Army led by Marshal Khalifa Hafter since the beginning of its military operation to liberate the capital Tripoli more than two and a half months ago, after bloody battles that killed and wounded dozens of elements from both sides, Al-Arabiya Net reported.

The military information division of the General Command of the Libyan army, in a statement, said that all the forces are ready to move back to Gharian, after the arrangement of ranks, coincided with the direction of reinforcements of new military forces of the lightning to the city to support the army forces.
