Martyrs' families of Tal Rifaat massacre: continue our steadfastness, resistance

The families of the martyrs of the Tel Rifaat massacre confirmed that violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries will not undermine their will and resistance, calling for the international perpetrators of this massacre to be tried.

On December 2, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries committed a massacre against civilians in the Tal Rifaat district of Al-Shahba district, killing 10 civilians, including 8 children, in addition to injuring dozens.

In this context, our agency met with the families of the children who were martyred in this massacre.

The child, Muhammad Omar, 7 years old, is one of the children who were martyred in the massacre of Tal Rifaat, and he is the son of the fighter in the ranks of the People's Protection Units, Muhammad Omar, who was martyred nearly three years ago during the liberation of Al-Shahba district from ISIS mercenaries.

On that day, the martyr's brother Muhammed Omar, Hussein Omar, who is 11 years old, said, "My brother and I and our friends were jogging in the street. I went home and seconds later heard the sound of explosions. I ran to the street and saw my brother and my friends lying on the ground."

Hussein Omar asked, "What is the fault of my brother and my friends for being targeted by the occupation ?, What have we done to them ?, Our father was martyred before, and today we lost my brother, too."

"I find myself alone after the Turkish occupation killed my brother and friends."

Hussein said at the end of his speech and sadness was visible on his face, "I wish I did not go home, and I stayed with my younger brother than I had to protect him and my friends, and I would have martyred with them, today I find myself alone after the Turkish occupation killed my brother and my friends."

Sherine Khalo, the mother of the child, Mohamed Omar, said, "Three years ago, my husband, Muhammad, was martyred when he was participating in the defense of the region and the liberation of Al-Shahba areas from ISIS mercenaries, and this is why I named my son Muhammad after his father's name."

Shereen khalo in her speech touched on their displacement from Afrin, and what happened to them in Tal Rifaat, and said, "We were living in safety in the city of Afrin, but after the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries launched their brutal attacks on the canton about a year and eight months ago, we were forced to flee, and we settled in Tal Rifaat, but we were not spared the evil of the Turkish state here as well, they bombed civilians, and my child Muhammad was martyred. "

'Our resistance continues'

The mother of the child Hamouda Muhammad Ali, who is 11 years old, who was martyred in the massacre of Tel Rifaat, and she is the mother of the fighter in the ranks of the People's Protection Units Zinar Afrin Ali who was martyred in the village of Wardia in Shahba canton in January 20, 2016 and they are the people of the village of Qantara in the district of Afrin's Mobata, and they were displaced to Tal Rifaat, following the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on Afrin, she indicated that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries with these violations are trying to undermine their will and their resistance, and she said, "We continue to resist and struggle, and we remain in Tal Rifaat despite everything, until Afrin is liberated."

Mother of the two martyrs appealed to the international community and organizations concerned with human and children's rights to intervene and stop violations of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against them, and hold them accountable for the massacres they committed.

The father of the two martyrs Hammouda and Zinar Muhammed Ali Suleiman, in turn, noted that the Turkish state claims to be fighting terrorism, and asked, "Are these children terrorists? Are these children who were playing on the street terrorists?"

Muhammad Ali Suleiman said at the end of his speech, "Where are the international organizations, humanitarian and human rights, we ask the concerned authorities to hold the perpetrators accountable."
