Mass grave of Kurdish victims eliminated by Saddam Hussein regime found

Al-Muthanna Governor Ahmed Manfi Joudeh announced on Friday the discovery of a mass grave for the Kurdish victims who were exterminated at the hands of Saddam Hussein's regime.

"A mass grave of Kurds left as victims by the former regime in Iraq has been found in al-Samawa desert," the governor said in a statement.

Statistics confirm that the regime of the Former President Saddam Hussein carried out mass arrests of 182,000 Kurdish citizens including men, women and children during the second half of the 1980s. The detainees were eradicated and buried in mass graves in desert areas in different parts of Iraq, especially in the south.
