MFC recalls martyrs of Kobane Resistance on its liberation anniversary

The Martyrs' Families Council (MFC) in Kobane recalled the martyrs of January and the Kobane Resistance, by lighting candles their graves, at the martyr Dijla Shrine.

This evening, the people of the canton and the MFC visited the Dijla Shrine, south of the city, and lit candles on their graves in conjunction with the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Kobani from ISIS mercenaries.

After lighting the candles, Ahmed Sheikho, a member of the Executive Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) said, "The martyrs of January remind us of the resistance that shocked the whole world. On this day, their resistance triumphed over terrorism."

And Sheikho added: "Those ones remind the whole world of the meaning of the heroic resistance."

The commemoration ceremony was concluded by chanting slogans that commemorate the martyrs and salute Kobane's resistance.
