AL-HASAKAH
The General Military Council of SDF, at the end of its regular meeting held today in al-Hasakah, in which the members of the council participated from the commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces, issued the final statement of the meeting, which was read by the Relations Officer of SDF.
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, the Military Council of SDF held its regular meeting with the participation of all the commanders of the regions, councils and military institutions. The meeting discussed the military and field situation and the war on IS in its last strongholds. The meeting also discussed the post -withdrawal of the United States forces as well as the claims of the Turkish state and the buffer zone and the future relations with the Syrian government and other topics of current and future military and security importance.
The result of our military operations against terrorist organizations in all their names - 1 since 2012 and the latest against IS since the beginning of 2014 and so far with the support of the Global Coalition where IS is about to fall militarily and the remaining elements of the organization trapped in a very small geographical area in al-Bagouz village and the battle will end after liberating the prisoners and civilians from IS.
2-The meeting identified the new military strategy of SDF for the next stage at the following levels:
A - Elimination of the secret military organization of sleeper cells through accurate military and security campaigns with the support of the Global Coalition Forces.
B - Drying the social, intellectual and economic ground on which IS depends on the continuity of its existence.
The Military Council discussed the position of the Turkish state and its incorrect claim that our forces pose a danger to its security and vice versa. The Turkish state is the actual and direct occupation of the Syrian territories in Afrin, al-Bab, Jrablos and Idlib. The meeting affirmed its desire to solve problems with the Turkish state through dialogue and mutual respect. At the same time, we stressed the full readiness to protect our areas in the event of any aggression and welcome the establishment of the buffer zone under international supervision in order to establish security and peace on our northern border.
3-The Military Council discussed the future of relations with the Syrian government and stressed the attempt to find a solution through dialogue within the framework of a unified Syria, taking into account the specificity of SDF and the constitutional recognition of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria.
4 -The meeting focused on the prominent and leadership role of Women's Protection Units through their extensive and practical participation in the fight against terrorism and praised the heroic operations carried out by the fighters.
5-The meeting considered that the liberation of Afrin and the return of its original inhabitants to their homes and stop the processes of demographic change of their priorities in the next stage.
6-SDF will soon announce the end of the geographical and the practical presence of IS to restructure, train and deploy its forces according to security and military requirements.
