Official in SDC: Russia is partner in attacks on Ain Issa, not a guarantor

Member of the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in Al-Raqqa, Khalil Al-Khamis, confirmed that Russia's non-interference as a guarantor in the ceasefire makes it a partner in the repeated attacks on Ain Issa district, adding, "Turkey directly targets civilians to displace them, as it did in Afrin, Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain.

Ain Issa district and its neighboring villages are exposed to repeated attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on a daily basis, while the Russian and international community keep silent about these attacks.

A member of the Public Relations Office of the SDC, Al-Khamis, said, "The shelling continues on a daily basis in Ain Issa district despite the presence of Russian bases in the area." He added, "it targeted civilians in Ain Issa, and the best example of this barbarism is the death of one of Ain Issa's children, two days ago. "

Al-Khamis added, "Russia did not show any position toward the ceasefire as a guarantor, which urged the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries to intensify their attacks to control the Ain Issa district and displace its people as it did in Afrin and Tal Abyad and Serêkaniyê. "

He noted that Russia can pressure Turkey to stop the attacks, adding, "Russia has not yet entered Ain Issa district for pressuring the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces to make concessions to the Syrian regime."

Al-Khamis added that the people of northeast Syria reject these attacks and refuse to hand over the administration of these areas to Russia, Turkey, or even the Syrian regime.

"The Turkish occupation seeks to control Ain Issa district before Joe Biden takes office, because the new America administration does not meet the ambitions of the Turkish occupation in the region," Al-Khamis said.

'Russia is a partner, not a guarantor'

Thursday indicated that Russia's silence regarding the repeated attacks on Ain Issa district indicates that it is not a guarantor, rather a partner for occupying them by the Turkey or the Syrian regime, adding, "Unfortunately, Russia did not act as the true guarantor as it promised."

He pointed out that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fully committed to the ceasefire, but Turkey violated the agreement concluded with a Russian guarantee, adding, "Turkey has not stopped the firing, but rather intensified the attacks on Ain Issa district."

On Thursday, he praised the role of SDF in confronting these repeated attacks on Ain Issa district, adding, "The SDF responded to many attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries to prevent them from entering Ain Issa, Tal Tamr."

He ended his speech by calling on the international community to "move and intervene to stop these barbaric attacks that target the security and freedom of the peoples of the region."
