The Democratic Union Party (PYD) held a memorial ceremony for the martyr Khaled Kuti, member of the General Council of the party, on the first anniversary of his death, during a ceremony held at the shrine of the martyr Mahmoud Tohma.
The ceremony was attended by dozens of parents, members of the institutions of Girê Spî and members and administrators of the Democratic Union Party, led by the party's co-chair, Shahoz Hassan.
After holding a minute of silence in commemoration of the martyrs' lives, Shahoz Hassan delivered a speech in which he commemorated the martyr Khalid and all the martyrs of freedom and pledged in his speech to follow the footsteps of the martyrs until victory.
"Our aim in our struggle in this region is to live in this country with dignity and freedom, in a democratic system in which everyone can prove themselves and be protected," he said.
A member of the Diplomatic Relations Committee of the Democratic Union Party in Girê Spî Ismail al-Kawas said in a statement: "Khalid was a symbol in the party and had a prominent role in spreading and applying the principle of brotherhood of peoples and coexistence."
While Mohammed Arif, the brother of martyr Khaled welcomed the attendees participating in the memorial ceremony, saying their presence means that they are walking on martyr's path until victory.
At the conclusion of the memorial ceremony, the Culture and Art Center in Girê Spî presented a painting of martyr Khalid to his family.
Khaled Kuti, member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, was martyred in May 1 last year after a landmine explosion of mercenaries in the countryside of Ain Issa district, a suburb of Girê Spî.
