Outcome of Turkish escalation on NE Syria during the past 48 hours

The Turkish occupation state launched violent attacks on dozens of border villages in NE Syria, which resulted in martyrdom of 4 fighters and a citizen and injury of dozens, including women, children and media professionals.

The Turkish occupation army has escalated its attacks on NE Syria, where the past 48 hours have witnessed violent bombardment of dozens of border villages with heavy weapons and drones, amid international and regional silence, especially on the part of Russia and America, the guarantors of the ceasefire process that was concluded in October 2019.

The following is the outcome of the Turkish attacks against NE Syria during 48 hours:

August 8

On the morning of August 8, the Turkish occupation army targeted the village of Jatliyah, west of al-Darbasiyah district, and Khaniki village, west of Amuda district, belonging to the Hasaka and Qamishlo cantons, respectively, with mortars and heavy artillery.

* This was followed by Turkish bombing on the western neighborhood of the Zarghan district in Hasaka canton with rockets, which resulted in material damage.

* In addition to the bombing of the villages of Karama, Jarinki, and Khaniki, west of Amuda district, with heavy artillery.

* At 07:00, the Turkish occupation army bombed the border village of Kar Top, east of Qamishlo city, with heavy artillery.

* At 09:15, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries renewed their shelling of the villages of Kozliya and Tal al-Laban in the western countryside of Tel Tamer district, with heavy weapons. This was followed by shelling with heavy weapons of the countryside of Ain Issa district and Girê Spî district.

* At 12:15, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries bombarded the village of Qabur al-Qarajneh, located north of Tel Tamer district of al-Hasakah canton on the road to Zarghan district, with heavy artillery.

At 12:45, the Turkish occupation army began shelling the vicinity of Tal Rifaat district in al-Shahba canton, with heavy weapons, amid the flight of Turkish drones over the area.

* Citizen Rinas Murad was injured at exactly 13:00 in the village of Tel Ziwan, east of Qamishlo city, as a result of the artillery shelling launched by the Turkish occupation army.Meanwhile, the occupation renewed its shelling on the villages of Jarnki and Tel Hamdoun, in the Amuda district, with heavy artillery.

* The Turkish occupation army targeted at around 15.00 the crew of the Rojava satellite channel, while covering the bombing of the Turkish occupation of the villages of Amuda district, near the village of Jarnak, with two missiles.

At 17:00, the Turkish occupation army bombed the village of "Jdeidet" in the western countryside of Issa district, and Farhan Muhammad Bashir (26 years) was wounded.

* At 19.20, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries bombarded the village of Al Taweelah, west of Tal Tamr district, along the M4 international road, with heavy artillery. At 21:30, a point of Damascus government forces in the village of Kharza in Amuda district was also targeted.

August 9

* The occupation army bombed at the dawn of August 9, the village of Al Salama, southwest of Tel Tamer district, with heavy artillery, which led to the death of Ibrahim Muhammad Hashi (55 years).

* The people of Umm al-Qura village of al-Shahba canton woke up on the morning of August 9 to the sounds of the shells of the Turkish occupation army, as 10 Ubis shells bombed the village.

* At 09:30, a Turkish occupation drone targeted a house in the village of Kharza in the western countryside of Amuda district, causing material damage to the residents’ property. This was followed by intense bombardment of the village of Khaniki, west of Amuda district, with heavy weapons, and intense flight of drones over the villages of the district.

* At exactly 13.00, a drone belonging to the Turkish occupation army bombed the area behind the Jian-Covid 19 Hospital, north of Qamishlo city, and 4 fighters were martyred as a result of the bombing, and 3 others were wounded. According to a statement by the Syrian Democratic Forces .

At 15:45, the Turkish occupation army bombed the villages of Sikarka and Tel Ziwan, east of Qamishlo city, with artillery, wounding 6 civilians.

And according to ANHA, the names of the injured are as follows: Halabja Rashid (33 years old), Arin Abdel Aziz Al-Hassan (38 years old), children Mohammed Saleh (12 years old), Miran Salah (10 years old), Ilan Salah (5 years old), and Baland. Muhammad Shams El-Din (16 years old).

* At exactly 16:00, most of the border villages in Qamishlo canton to Tal Tamr district passing through Al-Darbasiyah district in Al-Hasakah canton were hit by heavy artillery.

The villages that were affected by the Turkish bombardment are: Shalhoumiya, Kardim, Wakil Hasanak, Tal Jahan, Rotan, Zour Ava, Tell Bishk, and Mulla Abbas, in the Terbespiye district. And the village of Qurmana in the district of Al-Darbasiyah. And the villages of Jarnaki, Shorky, Tal Hamdoun, and Khaniki of the Amuda sub-district.

At 17:00, the Turkish occupation army bombed the villages of Faqirah, Arida and Al-Asadiya in the countryside of Zarghan district, Hasaka canton. From St. George Church in the village of Mohakhan, about 7 km northwest of the district.Turkish heavy artillery also targeted Omrik village, east of Qamishlo city, with several shells.

* At 19:45, the village of Dirona Qalanka was subjected to heavy artillery shelling with mortar shells, in conjunction with shelling that targeted the two populated villages of Dashisha and Kozliya, located on the western side of Tel Tamer district.

* Several shells landed in the vicinity of Dirona Agi village in the district’s countryside. This was followed by the firing of soldiers of the Turkish occupation army stationed on the borders separating Rojava and Bakur Kurdistan towards the village of Sarmasakh al-Fawqani, located in the northern countryside of Qamishlo canton.
