Pentagon: We will continue to support SDF

The United States is continuing to supply weapons and vehicles to the Syrian Democratic Forces in northeastern Syria, despite the start of a border security mechanism with Turkey along the border, AFP quoted a US defense official as saying.

Chris Meyer, director of the Pentagon's Counterterrorism Task Force, said: "We continue to provide weapons and vehicles specifically designed for the SDF to use against ISIS," he said, stressing that they are very transparent about what supplies are provided.

Meyer said they report to Turkey on a monthly basis about weapons and vehicles provided by the United States to the SDF.

Regarding about the buffer zone, Meyer said: "It is a" security mechanism ", our troops went out five joint flights with the Turkish army and the first joint ground patrol for the project was on September 8 this year."
